New Year, New Flooring Projects to Spruce Up Your Orlando Home!

Residential flooring trends are inherently connected to interior design trends, and as we head into the new year, aesthetics are moving toward natural, warm, and welcoming. There is an added emphasis on mixing natural materials (wood, stone, metal, and natural fibers) and integrating subtle patterns for visual interest and texture.

We’re excited to announce that 2025’s flooring trends perfectly complement Orlando’s indoor-outdoor lifestyle and our love of nature.

Insight Into This Year’s Trends From Orlando Flooring Pros

Now is a perfect time to stop by a Creative Floors showroom. In addition to our expertise in residential flooring, we also have interior design expertise and can help you create living spaces personalized to your household and lifestyle.

We’re always in tune with current and upcoming design trends. Here are some of the themes we’re focusing on this year.

Implementing Natural Materials (or Luxurious Representations).

For quite some time now, design trends have been swinging more toward natural materials than synthetic ones, including flooring. This means wood and stone flooring materials are in high demand.

However, since our Orlando climate is not necessarily suited to traditional hardwood floors, clients are grateful for our moisture-resistant alternatives that replicate wood.

If you love the look of natural stone, we’ve got you covered. In addition to natural stone ceramic and porcelain tile selections, we also have luxury vinyl planks replicating natural stone. For example, if you love the look of marble but worry about its soft, porous, and higher maintenance features, stone-look luxury vinyl is the perfect solution and easier on the budget.

Mixing & Matching Natural Materials

Cohesive interior designs don’t equal “everything has to match.” Mixing and matching natural materials that complement one another – even if they are all within the same color palette – creates visual interest and texture.

As we evaluate each living area in your home, we can discuss the materials or looks that would best complement the existing or planned features and finishes. We can also discuss products that transition seamlessly from one space to another.

For example, vinyl planks come in varying thicknesses, which can affect how they transition into adjacent spaces. During your flooring consultation, we’ll talk about which products not only look the best but will also transition well from room to room. And don’t forget how carpet or custom area rugs can dress up living spaces while adding textural variation.

In some cases, rug materials such as natural wool or jute provide the look you want. Other rugs introduce texture via varying carpet fiber lengths, color variations, or woven patterns that can be as subtle or bold as you like.

Subtle, Timeless Patterns

We’ll also see an increase in the use of patterns. This includes patterns created by the selected flooring options and how they’re installed, as well as accent tiles on backsplashes and other interior accents. If you like the idea of creating a flooring pattern but are wary that the trend may fade, we recommend looking into subtle, timeless patterns.

In some cases, this is as simple as staggering wood grain patterns or subtle stain changes, so your flooring isn’t perfectly consistent but has a more natural or historic appearance. However, we also encourage looking into chevron patterns or other alternatives. When these are installed using monochromatic themes, the pattern never looks out-of-date. Finally, as mentioned above, area rugs or carpets are another way to incorporate patterns into interior design.
